ICANN Releases "Information for Rights Holders" PDF

February 21, 2013 - ICANN has released a new "Information for Rights Holders" pdf which provides an overview of the legal rights protection mechanisms that have been build into the Top Level Domain (TLD) application process. The PDF starts with an overview of the legal rights protections which were a part of the application process which was is being used to evaluate the applicants for new Top Level Domains. The PDF goes on to describe the Trademark Clearinghouse which will be used after new Top Level Domains (TLDs) go live to ensure that legal rights holders are protected within new Top Level Domains (TLDs) such as .WEB, .SHOP and .BUZZ. Finally, the Information for Rights Holders PDF describes Uniform Rapid Suspension, Trademark Post-Delegation Dispute Resolution, WHOIS and the sunrise period.
